About Us

Hay! (See what I did there!?)

Thank you for visiting our blog! We are two Southern girls who are 50 years apart. Read along as we bridge the generational gap with stories, pictures, and recipes that tie the past into the present.

Folks of all ages can enjoy our content. The ripe ones might learn a thing or two and the more seasoned readers can relate and reminisce with a simpler time.

It is true what they say about the past cycling back to the present. Take Emily, for example. She grew up on a farm, raised her own family in the city, and retired back to the farm. She has returned to her roots and continues to cultivate her rural culture within her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Speaking of grandchildren, Erica is Emily's granddaughter. Erica majored in English and recruited Emily's expertise for research when she wrote a novel that took place on the farm in the 1940s. Fascinated by the stories and the way of life back then, she wanted to bring it to life in an ongoing blog.
